AT DIXIELAND
MAORI NIGHT “Maori Night” at Dixieland last evening proved a very successful attraction and crowds of dancers were present, as they usually are when the popular cabaret announces any special items. Maori warriors entertained with fierce war cries and hakas, and fascinating poi dances were given by four Maori maidens. Clyde llowley played his “Maori Medley,” which was an appropriate and popular number, as also was “Crazy Quilt, Crazy Tune,” a new dance-pro-voker, introduced during the evening by the cheery Internationals. Favours, balloons and gay paper caps were not given away as they used to be by a kindly management, but for all that a quaintly-gowned attendant did quite a brisk trade when selling them at sixpence each.
