ARAPUNI POWERHOUSE.—To solve the difficulty of the foundations, the Armstrong Whitworth engineers have suggested that the control station be built on the hillside, at the point shown in the foreground, instead of under the same roof as the powerhouse. This, it is claimed, would give the powerhouse itself greater stability.
