BOHEMIAN ORCHESTRA
TO-NIGHT'S CONCERT From Schubert and A Vagner to Sir Arthur Sullivan, is the range covered m the plebiscite programme to be presented by the Bohemian Orchestra at the Town Hall this evening. This will be the fourth concert of the orchestra’s fourteenth season. Growing in strength year by year this combination has now attained a very high standard, so much so that it is well entitled to be termed New Zealand’s premier orchestra. To-night’s programme provides a fine diversity of items. Scenes from "The Gondoliers,” particularly appropriate in view of the forthcoming Gilbert and Sullivan revival, will he followed by Schubert’s “Unfinished” Symphony, which headed the request j list. j Corelli’s “Sarabande and Allegretto” ! an,d Handel’s “Largo” will be given by ■ violin choir of 50 instrumentalists, accompanied by the orchestra. Other orchestral numbers will be AA’agner’s “Tannhauser” overture, Liszt's “Liebestraume” and RhajDsodie “No. 2,” and Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Die Hummel.” The soloists will be Mr. Ernest Snell and Master David Lunney.
