JUDGE ALPERS BURIED AT CHRISTCHURCH
LONG FUNERAL CORTEGE Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. The funeral of the late Mr. Justice Alpers took place to-day, and was very largely attendedThe body had been brought down from Wellington, and rested in Canterbury College hull until 10 a.m., when the cortege proceeded to Waimairi cemetery, where the Rev. H. S. Leach conducted the service. It was one of the longest funerals seen here for many years. Many wreaths came from the North Island. SERVICE IN WELLINGTON Press Association. WELLINGTON, Tuesday. A service was held at St. Paul s today in memory of the late Mr. Justice Alpers. The burial service was read, and the pallbearers assisted. Among those present were the Sneaker. Sir Charles Statham, the Hon. F J Rolleston, Sir R. Heaton Rhodes, the Chief Justice, Sir Charles Skerrett, Sir Robert Stout, ex-Chief Justice, Sir Joseph Ward, Sir John Luke. Mr. Justice MacGregor, and Mr. Justice Frazer, and many members of the Bar and representative public men.
