RANGITOTO MISHAP
MEN STILL MISSING SEARCH PARTIES AT WORK Unavailing: search was continued this morning for signs of Messrs. William Williams and James Bowman, of Takapuna, the other two occupants of the boat which capsized on Saturday afternoon. Throughout last night with the aid of torches an extensive search was made of the beach from Drunken Bay to Rangitoto beacon, another party in three dinghies simultaneously searching the rock reefs along the coast-line. At sunrise to-day the search was continued to Mototapu. The party which comprises three launch loads of voluntary helpers, under the charge of Messrs. J. Bodle and A. Double, will stay away to-day and put back to Milford to-morrow morning. A search party under Mr. McLeod, of Takapuna, also combed the foreshore of Rangitoto early yesterday morning. The searchers in addition went twice over that part of the beach on Motu-h*-PU where it was thought the missing men might be found, but there was no result.
Little hope is held out that either of the men has survived.
