GIRL GUIDES’ BANQUET

CAMBRIDGE CELEBRATION The First Cambridge Company of Girl Guides held a banquet recently ua celebration of the fifth birthday of the company. The 50 guests included representatives from Hamilton, Frankton, Claudelands and Te Awamutu. The guest of honour was Dr. Buckley Turkington, of Auckland, the district commissioner, who. made awards as follow:—Five years’ service stars to six Guides, service stars and badges to 16 Guides, a gold Tenderfoot badge to the captain, and a ‘‘Thanks’’ badge to the secretary. Games and items by the various companies were followed by supper. The assembly was brought to a close by the singing of "Auld Bang Syne” and the National Anthem.
