The offering of cow and heifer beef, more uneven than in the ox boef lection and, though there was a large preponderance of well-finished young beef cattle, there was also a fair percentage of inferior quality sorts, many of which could have done with several weeks more on decent feed. Values were maintained practically on » par with those ruling at last week’s ■ale, though at times they were erratic, and some lines of light-framed, wellfinished cattle brought more than their actual weight warranted bn the general ton# of the market. „ ' Choice heavy prime young heifers made to £9 10s; choice prime smaller-framed :oung cattle and prime medium-weight >oung cows and heifers made from £T6 Him to £8 ss; light-framed prime and medium prime old cows made £5 17s fid to £6 10s.
