The New Zealand Loan and Mercan tile has received the following cable message from its London representa tives, dated November 22:—London wool sales: There was a good attend" ance at the opening of the sale today, competition by Home and Continental buyers being active. Prices, as compared with the close of the preceding series, ruled par to 5 per cent, higher for merino and 74 per cent, to 10 per cent, higher for crossbred. The opening catalogue, were fairly representative. FRANKTON STOCK SALE BEEF AND MUTTON FIRM PRICES ADVANCE (Special to THE SUN.) HAMILTON, To-day. The Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Co Ltd., report:—At the Frankton yards yesterday there was a fair entry of beef and fat sheep and an average yarding of fat and store pigs. Beef and mutton were firm and prices advanced on the previous week. There was no improvement in the price of fat pigs, but competition was good for stores and weaners. Beef.—Heavy fat bullocks, £l2 l£s; light fat bullocks. £lO 16s; heavy f*{ cows. £9 10s to £9 16s; lighter. £7 4s to £7 10s: fat heifers. £7 Is to £7 10s; plain and unfinished cows, £5 to £6; vealer.s £2 ss; fresh store cows, £4 9s; store cows. £2 11s to £3 ss: choice dairy cows, £lO 5s to £l4 10s; choice dairy heifers, £9 to £ll 10s.
