PLAY IN CLUB FOURS (Prom Our Own Correspondent) WHANGAREI, Monday. At the Whangarei green on Saturday, there were some interesting contests in the club fours. Harrison, Steadman, Coote. McKenzie, 24, defeated Wilson, Jounneaux, Crane, Donaldson, 11; Morrison, Beehre, Holloway, Cutforth, 23, defeated Alenzies. jun., Maurer, Kerr, Harrison, 20; Delamore, Nobes, Archer, Stone, 21, defeated Lees, Mullins, Gunson, Walker. 9; Wilding. Marshall, Stewart, Gribble, 29, defeated McKay, Taylor, Morrish, Judd, 21. The wind was very tricky, but the greens were very keen. In his game with McKenzie, Donaldson scored on the first three heads, then the other side took a hand and took the next seven, the score then being IS—B in McKenzie’s favour. By the 14th Donaldson had pushed up to 11, but stopped there. The contest between Stone and Walker was much closer than the scores indicate. When Gribble and Judd went down for the 20th, the score was 21 all, but the former got a four on each of the remaining heads. In a draw game, Keav. McLeod, McEwen and Byrne. 22, defeated McKinnon. Caffler, Telfer, Muldoon, 21. KENSINGTON PERCENTAGE FOURS At the Kensington Club's green, percentage fours were decided as follow: Gardner, Windust, Hutchings, McXaughton. 21, defeated Gibson, Sword, Barnes, Huvtori 19: Hilford, Grant. McKay. Tibbits. 31. defeated Revell, Hayward, Cliff. Barry, 18: Lee and AlePliee, 26, defeated Fulljames and Hilford, 12. -
