WELLINGTON, Sunday. The outstanding performances at an electric-light meeting under the auspices of the Wellington Centre held at the Basin Reserve last evening, were those of G. Bayne, who beat R. A. Rose by two yards in one mile in 4min 33sec, and F. S. Ramson, who defeated the champion. R. W. Lander, in both 120 and 440yds hurdles races. Only scratch events were included on the programme, and the form displayed was of a high standard. The track was inclined to be heavy after recent rain. There was an attendance of over 2,000.
