Film Enthusiast With Mr. Amery
PUBLICITY FOR N.Z. CAPTAIN BRASS’S WIN Captain Brass, M.P., who accompanies Mr. Amery as his Parliamentary secretary, is a film enthusiast. WHEN lie set out from England with Mr. Amery and party, Captain Brass was armed with two movie cameras and 10,000 feet of film. Already he has expended about half that quantit3% * and he has yet to “shoot” New Zealand and Canada. Captain Brass spoke with enthusiasm of the films already developed. They have been so successful that he feels certain that several more thousand feet will bo used in New* Zealand. His object is to lecture when he returns from New Zealand, so the Dominion will receive free publicity from this visitor.. When in the House of Commons, Captain Brass, who has sat for three Parliaments—he was first elected in 1922—is Parliamentary secretary to the Minister for Health, Mr. Neville Chamberlain, a brother of Sir Austen Chamberlain, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs. Captain Brass had the unique distinction—and he is very proud of it—of wresting a Lancashire seat from the Labour Party after it had been in their possession for 42 years. It was a notable achievement, and., what .is more, he has kept it ever since. During the war Captain Brass served both in France and with the Air Force. He is particularly interested in air matters, and discussed Australia’s problems with the authorities while in that country. New Zealand’s possibilities in this respect, said Captain Brass, would engage his attention while travelling through the Dominion.
