Draper Fourd Dead. —W. E. McCarthy, a well-known Wanganui draper, was found dead in an upstairs portion of his shop this morning with an overcoat over his head. Kaitaia Hospital Funds. The “Follies Revue” party and Mrs. Glynan’s pupils gave a very successful entertainment at Kaitaia in aid of the hospital this week. Rotorua Racecourse. —Th< Rot< racecourse is being made very attractive with flowers and shrubs. The course is said to be in splendid condition. Theft Alleged. —William Robert Carson, aged 25, charged at the Police Court to-day with stealing goods valued at £lO 5s from a dwelling, was remanded to appear on Thursday. Entered a Shop. —On a charge of having been illegally on shop premises in Dominion Road, a 14-year-old lad was put under supervision for two years by the Children’s Court to-day He had climbed through a window and had opened a drawer when he w*is surprised by the shopkeeper. Sydney Mail. —The Chief advises that the Intercolonial passenger steamer Maungdni;: Which left Sydney for Auckland on November 18, has oi board 74 bags of Australian and Eastern mail for Auckland.
