Round the Churches
Following Holy Communion at 8 a.m. to-morrow. Canon Grant Cowen will preach on "The Parables of Jesus” at St. Matthew’s Church, Wellesley Street. The evening sermon will be on “The Miracles of Jesus.” Special Sunday School anniversary services are being held at the Church of Christ, Ponsonby Road, to-morrow. Singing by the young people will be a feature of the three services. There will be an anniversary concert on Wednesday next. The Associated Churches of Christ meet to-morrow as follow: Ponsonby Road, Mr. H. P. Leng; Dominion Road, Mr. K. Kelvin: Richmond, Mr. T. J. Bull; Onehunga, Mr. W. E. Vickery; Avondale, Mr. Roberts; Mount Albert and Devonport. “Christian Social Efforts in England” is the subject chosen by the Rev. M. Sutton Sharpe, of London, for her address at the Unitarian Church, Ponsonby Road, to-morrow morning. The Rev. A. Thornhill, AT.A., is to speak on “Where Unitarianism Excells” in the evening. ♦ * * The Rev. S. Griffith will preach at the morning service of the Edendale Presbyterian Church, Mr. G. Grieve in the evening. The annual meeting is being held on Thursday next. Services are as usual at Somervell Church, Remuera. Another evangelistic service at which the Rev. C. G. Scrimgeour will preach on “Mountains and Molehills” is to be held by the Methodist Central Mission in Airedale Street to-morrow evening. “Soul and Body” will be discussed at a meeting of the First Church of Christian Scientists in the church hall to-morrow. The usual services are being held by the Spiritualists’ Church in the U.0.0.F. Hall, Pitt Street, to-morrow. At the Grange Road Baptist Church to-morrow morning and evening the Rev. A. S. Wilson will speak. During the afternoon Mr. C. W. White, of the N.Z. Alliance, will address the children. Mr. S. Xicholls, 8.A., who has onlv lately returned from the U.S.A., will speak at the Y.M.C.A. to-morrow afternoon at a men’s meeting. Air. B. X. Wilson is preaching at both services of the Royal Oak Baptist Church to-morrow.
