At the Newcastle Stadium, Jack Paul, 10.2, defeated Dick French, 9.12, on a technical knock-out* in the sixth round of a 15-rounds contest. Paul had the better of matters from the commencement, and dealt severe punishment to French. The latter was in such a bad way at the commencement of the sixth round that his seconds skied the towel.—A. and N.Z.
