STUDIO CREDIT UNION
Carl Laemmle, president of Universal, has again shown his paternal interest in employees of his Universal Pictures Corporation in the establishment of the Universal Studio Credit Union, capitalised at 50,000 dollars. The union is established to enable needy employees of the studios at Universal City to borrow cash at a low rate of interest. The union is patterned after employees’ savings institutions which have been active in Europe for the last half-century. Similar organisations have been formed and operated in many American department stores.
