EXPERTS AT WORK
BURGLARS’ £2OO HAUL RAID ON DRAPERY SHOP (Special to THE SUN.) CHRISTCHURCH, Frida Working with the accuracy and care of expert carpenters, burglars gained access to the drapery shop of Mr. J. T. Bisman, in Sea View Road, New Brighton, last night, and stole goods valued at about £.200. Entrance was gained to the baeki yard of the shop by a narrow right - ! of-way. The bolted inch-thick door | was then attacked with a brace and bit. A hole was bored, but the crosspiece was struck, and the boring work 1 was done lower down. The man with the brace and bit cut l 22 inch holes to make an aperture Imi; j long and 12in. wide. The panels cut 1 out were uniform in length. Once inside, the thieves became bu> among the stock. Whole lines of silk stockings were taken, and several shirts were chosen from each box. Samples of suits were stolen, and several dresses which Mrs. Bisman had j just completed. Boxes of other goods : were also removed. * It was apparent that one of th<thieves had tried on a pair of trousers. ' which had been discarded. A sum oi £4 4s left in the till was taken.
