PRISONERS SENTENCED
PROBATION EXTENDED Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. In the Supreme Court to-day, sentences were passed as follows: Anker Jakos Charles common assault probation for 12 months; William Reef McDonald, formerly manager of the Christchurch branch of the Guardian Assurance Company, theft of from the company, admitted to probation for three years; Samuel Phoenix Briggs, law clerk, theft of £ 337 from a client’s estate, admitted to probation for three years; Leslie Stanniford Willetts, theft, breaking and entering, three years’ Borstal treatment; Alexander Frances Robinson, theft of bicycle six months’ gaol (the prisoner had a record); Frank Rissell. obscene exposure and indecent language, two years detention; Archibald Swain, forgery and false pretences, six months imprisonment.
