UNEMPLOYMENT FUND It is now known that the Mayor'* appeal for a special fund of £5,000 for unemployed for which the city has been canvassed for the past week, has been unsuccessful, in so far as the sum aimed at has barely been sighted. The position will be reported to & meeting of the committee this afternoon.
