POPULAR APPOINTMENT MR. F. D. MCVAY AS SECRETARY The appointment of Mr. F. D. Me* Vay as secretary of the Takapuna Jockey Club, in succession to the late Mr R Wynyard. was made yesterday afternoon by the committee of the club. The announcement will be received with pleasure by all racing folk who have come in contact with Mr. McVay, whose popularity among sportsmen is unbounded. For some time past the new official has been attached to the secretarial staff, ana during the illness of the late lamented Air K "Wynyard. Mr. McVay carried on the affairs of the club in a most able manner.
