FINE ROSE SHOW CONCLUDES TO-NIGHT

DISPLAY IN TOWN HALL The annual rose show of the Auckland Horticultural Society in the Town Hall concert chamber will conclude this evening. This is one of the best exhibitions ever arranged by the society. The display of roses is of an exceptionally high standard, and pansies, carnations, sweet peas, and irises also make a fine showing. Last evening a lecture on roses was given by Mr. H. G. Cutler, and a talk on pansies was given to-day. The Pascoe Challenge Cup for the best 18 varieties of pansies open classes, was awarded to Mrs. Abbott, and the Myers Challenge Cup for the best cut flowers in vases was won by Mrs. Tattersfield. The Royal Horticultural Society Medal for the most distinctive exhibit in the show was awarded to the Auckland Racing Club.
