RUAKURA FARM
LAMBS FOR EXPORT (From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, To-day. The Ruakura State Experimental Farm is in great heart, and the land bears a flourishing appearance. Pastures are in excellent condition and there is abundance of feed. Crops are nearly all in, and those coming away have made a good strike. A substantial increase in production from the pedigree dairy herd of 100 cows i$ recorded. The apiaries are very healthy and other branches of farm activities are progressing well. There are 1,050 lambs running on the farm in addition to 1 200 sheep, and they are in excellent condition, the season having been very favourable in that respect. The lambs will be exported by the farm authorities themselves and will be consigned through the Southdown works, and first drafts including a large percentage, will be dispatched in December.
