The second stage of the cycling Grand Prix race, from Wansaratta to Bendigo, 150 miles, resulted: H. Opperjnan (Victoria) 8h 4om 8s 1 H. Moody, 8h 50m 32s - P. Osborn, Sh 57m 36s 3 D. Anderson, Sh 57m 36 l-5s 4 Opperman lost eight minutes through a fall and a puncture. He and Moody and Osborn led at 36 miles, H. G. Watson (New Zealand) being fourth. Machine trouble halted Watson and Rennie (New Zealand). Watson was 18th at 68 miles, where Moody led. Opperman and Moody held the lead at 99 miles, with Osborn next and then Watson. Opperman took the lead alone at 110 miles and streaked away on the last 10 miles. He won well from Moody. A great race for third place ended in Osborn's favour. Rennie was sixth and Watson seventh. A great reception was accorded to Opperman. For the first two stages Opperman is first, leading Watson, who is second, by 44m 53 1 - ss. Watson and Rennie won the first stage of the teams’ race.
