ELLERSLIE NOTES TRAINING OPERATIONS Weather conditions were pleasant during training operations this morning. The No. 2 grass was the track most in use, while the course proper (one trestle out), the sand and tan were also available. NO. 2 GRASS War Officer and Abbey Day were companions over half a mile, run in 52. Sleepy Sol was not asked to do his best ever six furlongs in 1.23. Red Lion and Sir Mond, the Sereinond—Lute String colt, as a companion in a sprint over half a mile, registering 53. Whaka King proved much too good for Speechless in a bout over four furlongs in 52. Antrim Boy was sent over half a mile, taking 52 2-5 for the distance. The last three furlongs were cut out in 39. Town Guard, Acushla and Welkne were associated over six furlongs. The time occupied was 1.18, and there was not much between them at the end. Carinthia and Modest Boy covered five furlongs in 1.4 4-5, while Frowning Beauty took 1.5 for the last five of six furlongs. Avoncourt and Nankin Blue moved over half a mile in 51 2-5, the former appearing to be going the better at the finish. Levenside ran half a mile in 53 3-5, while Wee Marble took 51 1-5 for a similar journey. Mint Moiselle, Salamander and two-year-old White Light (Day CometLa Blanche), were partnered over* half a mile, run in 53. They were on terms at the finish. COURSE PROPER Royal Mint, on the outside berth, was giving Killute weight, in. a task over a round. The last fiye f&irlongs were run in 1.9, and the full distance covered In 2.5.: They finished on terms. Storm Fiend was. assisted by Bluespear over six furlongs. The first three furlongs took .38 4-5, and they finished their task in 1.20. Principal, Sir Russell, Presumption and Aggressive were in company over three furlongs, finishing on terms in 41 3-5. REMINDERS With the exception of the Takapuria Plate, acceptances for all events the first day at the Takapuna Jockey Club’s meeting are due at 5 p.m. on Friday. Entries for the Waipa Club’s annual meeting at Te Awamutu ou December 17 close at 5 p.m. on December 2. Nominations for the Manawatu Racing Club's meeting, and first forfeits for the Palmerston North Stakes, will close on Friday, December 2, at 9 p.m. Nominations for all events at the Marton Jockey Club’s meeting will be accepted up to 9 p.m. on Friday, December 9.
