MISS ISABEL WILFORD MAY NOT LEAVE “GARDEN OF EDEN”
Cabled advice has come from Miss Isabel Wilford to her mother, Mrs. T. M. Wilford, of Tinakori Road, Wellington, that she played Tallulah Bankhead's part in the “Garden of Eden" in London for 10 nights, the result being that she has had several offers of other parts, but Messrs. Clayton and Waller have refused to release her from her contract with them, which lasts till the end of the run of the “Garden of Eden.” Mr. and Mrs. Wilford are looking forward with great interest for the letters with accounts of the wonderful reception given by the audience to Miss Wilford’s impersonation of tlje leading part when Miss Bankhead was ill. A gratifying pa'rt of the whole episode to Mr. and Mrs. Wilford has been the great and kindly interest taken throughout New Zealand in the success of their daughter, for telegrams, letters and personal congratulations have come in numbers from ail parts. Mrs. Wilford will leave New Zealand in February to visit her daughter in London. Keep a butter-box in the kitchen for holding brown paper, paper bags and string. Stain it to match the general colour-scheme, and fix a lid to it. Tack a piece of leather on each end for handles by -which it can be pulled along easily to stand on when reaching a high shelf or to sit on while peeling fruit or vegetables.
