SATURDAY CONCERT

MARINE OFFICERS’ CLUB On Saturday evening a concert of outstanding merit will be given at the Town Hall. Many of the best known performers in Auckland will contribute to the progamme. The concert will be under the auspices of the Mercantile Marine Officers’ Club. A most attractive programme has been arranged and the following will be among those who who have consented to appear:—Mesdames Cyril Towsey, F. Robertson, Misses Alma McGruer, Birrell, McMurtrie, and Thompson: Messrs. Cyril Towsey, S. Pritchard, T. Philpott, and R. Yates; the Lyric Quartette and the Alohaland Orchestra. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer announce that Ramon Novarro will appear as Louis XIV., “the Grand Monarch of France,” in his next starring picture, which will be a lavish production dealing with the life of the greatest of the French kings during the period before his marriage.
