INDUSTRIOUS WORKER
HAMMERED THROUGH NIGHT HELD TO BE NUISANCE Ernest Griffiths, motor-body builder, i of Mount Albert, was charged at the Magistrate's Court to-day with creating a nuisance by working at night. Neighbours who gave evidence said that the noise of hammering at night j disturbed them. Mr. Terry, who appeared for the council, said that defendant had been asked by the council to discontinue, after residents of the district had presented a petition. The magistrate, Mr. E. C. Cutten, held that there had been a nuisance created, and he entered a conviction. Later, at the request of defendant's I counsel, he imposed a fine of JE 0, a* i that an appeal could be made.
