RUSSELL GIRL GUIDES
(From Our Ovzn Correspondent I RUSSELL, Saturday. A well-attended meeting of Girl Guide supporters, was held in the Town Hall on Thursday with a view to creating more interest in the work of the guides in Russell. Miss L. Hall, captain of the KawaKawa Girl Guides, paid an official visit and the organisation was discussed. Miss G. Holt, who is the local captain for the movement, was congratulated for the manner in which she had brought the company to its present state. The guides are busy preparing for the visit of the chief commissioner of the district, Mrs. Wright Wharigarei, towards the end of the present month. Mrs. Vipond has be <i n appointed lieutenant of the Russell detachment.
