NAVAL DESERTER CHARGED WITH THEFT
ROBBED HIS ROOM MATE Frederick Radford, a deserter from H.M.S. Renown, pleaded guilty at the Police Court to-day to charges of drunkenness and theft of £1 7s 6d. Senior-Detective Hammond said that accused deserted from his ship at Wellington early in the year. The money was stolen from a room-mate at a lodging house. Accused was remanded to appear for sentence on Friday.
