MINERS DISMISSED
SLACKNESS IN COAL TRADE AUSTRALIA LOSING GROUND By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright. Reed. 10 a.m. SYDNEY, To-day. As a result of slackness in the coal trade, many miners have received notice of dismissal. For a long time past, the demand, particularly from overseas, for Australian coal, has been on the decrease. It is stated that the frequency of trouble on the coalfields, and the absence of a guarantee of regular fulfilment of orders had induced many oversea customers to look elsewhere for their supplies.—A. and N.Z.
