RUSSELL REGATTA
BAY OF ISLANDS NOTES fFrom Our Oxen Correspondent) RUSSELL, Saturday. The regatta to be held here on December 29 promises to be a great success. Many out-board motor-boat owners have decided to enter for the events for the small craft and competition should be exciting. The regatta committee is holding a big concert in the town hall to-morrow to augment the funds of the club. There is evidence that there will be a large number of tourists visiting Russell during the summer months. Apart from the deep-sea anglers, who have made their reservations for the fishing season, there will be a great influx of visitors to view the beautyspots of the Bay of Islands. Mr. B. V. Rope, who built the new wharf at Russell, has secured the contract to erect the new wharf at Whangaroa. Mr. Rope is now busy transferring his plant from Russell.
