“SWEET ROSIE O’GRADY” Shirley Mason is the lovely Cinder ella of the sidewalks in Columbia’s film version of the old Maude Nugent song, “Sweet Rosie O’Grady,” a Master picture release now being shown at the Empire Theatre. The cast, including Cullen Landis, Lester Bernard, E. Alyn Warren, William Conklin, and Otto Lederer, have been selected for talent. In every instance make-up and mannerisms, excepting in the excellent portrayal of an Irish politician by Conklin, have resulted in some of the most amusing Jewish character portrayals. It is laid in California in 1846; the era of ron ance and conquest, suitable for a picture of love and action, against a background of fact.
