RIALTO SUNDAY CONCERT

EX-SERVICEMEN’S BENEFIT A bright and very entertaining concert given at the Rialto Theatre, Newmarket, last evening in aid of the exservicemen’s unemployment fund, attracted a large audience, as a result of which this very deserving fund should largely benefit. Vocal solos by Miss Jean Rose (soprano), Mr. Charles Kay (baritone) and Mr. George Puha (tenor) were warmly received, as also were the violin solos by Miss Isobel Langlands. Miss Langlands played Schubert’s “Ave

Maria" and Beethoven’s “Minuet” with excellent taste and expression. Monologues by Mr. Alan McElwain and solos and concerted items by Bensall’s orchestra also added to tin enjoyment of the programme. Mr. Howard Bloody made a very efficient accompanist.
