The Public Works Department is cirilating draft regulations under the otor Vehicles Act. 1924. to all bodies the Dominion who are interested. An ricial statement issued with the draM ates that the regulations have beon -epared with a view to obtaining unirmity throughout New Zealand in to essential requirements of motor .hide control. Although considerable care and tought has been given to the compilaon of the regulations, it is not claimed iat they are perfect, and for this re* - m they are being circulated for the nrpose of enabling constructive critism to be received. This course considered to be particularly dcsirble, as. although regulations are to a issued by the Government, it will be .or the local bodies, in common, of course, with the Police Department, to see to their administration and enforcement. The problem of headlights is mentioned as one of the most difficult of matters dealt with, and it has been onsidered advisable to place the proxiion dealing with this subject in an alternative form for the time being, .fter the opportunity for criticism has een given, it will bo decided whether : shall be insisted that all headlights hall be adjusted or only those not o constructed or equipped as to be of n efficient anti-dazzling nature. Motor - sts and others affected are requestor! r> communicate with the Public Works iepartment before December 1.
