WAITEMATA CLUB’S GALA The {swimming: season in Auckland will be opened again this year by the Waitemata Amateur Swimming Club by a carnival to be held in the Tepid Baths on Tuesday, November 22. Although it will be a late start, the weather has not assisted clubs to get moving. The club has arranged a comprehensive programme of events which will enable sprint and distance swimmers to have a try-out. There will be a novice 50yds race, the club handicap), 50yds, club 220yds handicap, ladies' 50yds handicap, and 100yds breaststroke handicap, as well as events for the tiny tots and the divers. The entries which close next Friday should be large enough to provide a good evening’s sport.
