In the course of an address to the members of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce Sir Alfred Mond, M.P., said: “Surely a race which performed miracles of organisation during the *ar can organise the Empire as an economic unit. This problem is an urgent one if the Empire is going to continue. "The world is tending toward a swup of Americas and toward European economic complexes. If Britain Joints the latter Canada is likely to join ibe American complex. Australia is equally likely to participate In a Pacicomplex. “The result would be the destruction °* the Empire’s fabric, which has [ aken centuries to build up.
