ONEHUNGA THEATRES

NEW PROGRAMMES A sermon against gambling is unfolded on the screen of the Strand and Foresters’ Theatres at Onehunga this week in “Broadway Nights,” which shows how the love of a man and a woman was tossed away with a pair of dice, and only regained when the man, played by Sam Hardy, realised he couldn’t “pass” forever. The film features lovely "Lois Wilson, who recently rebelled against playing opposite any more horses in “western” pictures and broke her contract with Famous Players to become a freelance actress. Robert Kane, who produced the picture, declares it is one of the best in his long career of moviemaking. Strong supporting programmes are being provided at both theatres.
