PLAY ASSOCIATION

NEED FOR FUNDS The urgent need for funds to procure a suitable building for a children s club was stressed by Mrs. Ferrur president of the Play and Recreation Association, at the meeting recently held for the purpose of winding up the business in connection with tho Sunny Italy Fair. The president stated that unfortunately the building hitherto used, the old Napier Street School, had to be demolished that week, which meant that until some other building w found the association would be witl - out any club, and would be forced t assemble the children temporarily In the parks or other domains. As there were already something lik< 500 children on the club rolls, the need for a building was obvious, as much of the good work already accomplished would be lost. It was decided to hold an even infer members and friends on Novemix - 24 at the Click-Clack Cabaret to assist in raising the necessary funds. Also a jumble sale in the club room-. Napier Street, on Friday and Saturday evenings next: and a street collection on December 2. The president congratulated tho members on the great success ol the fair, and thanked them for their hard work and loyal support en its behalf. She also expressed the gratitude of the association for the generous rapport and assistance given by the many outside friends and helpers.
