SKULL FRACTURED IN CAR COLLISION

YOUNG WOMAN INJURED When two cars collided in Manukau Road about noon yesterday. Miss Sarah Ann Stewart, a florist, aged 28, was thrown heavily on the concrete roadway, her skull being - fractured. She was taken to the Auckland Hospital, where an operation was performed. Her condition this morning had improved, but was still serious. No one else was injured. The car was driven by Mrs. Stewart, and was proceeding along Manukau Road when it collided with a light twoseater car near the corner of Greenfield Road. One of the back wheels was shattered. The two-seater escaped more lightly, only the lamps and bumper being damaged. Miss Stewart lives with her mother at 407 Manukau Road, Epsom.
