PRESBYTERIAN SYNOD

MEETS AT HAMILTON The Rev. W. A. Burley presided at the opening of the Methodist Synod at Hamilton yesterday. Probationers were examined as follow: —Rev. H. L. Biebig, 8.A., passed in his fourth year and unanimously recommended to conference for ordination to the full work of the ministry the Revs. F. G. Brown and J. H. Hall passed in their third and second years respectively. Examinations of candidates for the ministry' and home missionary probationers took place in the afternoon. The Rev. H. Ashworth was received in full status as a home missionary. At the evening service the speakc-rs were the Revs. S. Henderson and P. RParis.
