ASSAULT AND ABUSE
INCIDENT IN STREET WOMAN STRUCK: HUSBAND PROTESTS \\THEN DANIEL KEANE, aged 47, struck a woman with his elbow last evening, he was not contrite. He used obscene language to her husband. Keane pleaded guilty at the Police Court to-day to charges of assault and using obscene language. Senior-Sergeant McCarthy said that the woman and her husband were looking into a shop window last evening. As accused passed them he struck the woman with his elbow, and then walked on. When the husband challenged him, Keane used the language to him. Later Keane was arrested when trying to hide behind a motor-car. On one charge he was sentenced to 14 days’ imprisonment, and on the other 21 days, the terms to be cumulative.
