PRINCESS
“THE GIRL OF GOLD” Florence Vidor completely changes her personality in “The Girl of Gold,” which comes to the Princess Theatre to-morrow, for she appears for the first time in her screen career as a blonde. She is the pampered daughter of a Californian millionaire who unsuccessfully tries to break into New York society. The daughter then assumes another name and falls in love with a man who had previously agreed to marry the “Girl of Gold” for a money consideration, before he had seen her. The complications that ensue make a highly dramatic screen story. One striking episode is staged on the 16th level of a gold mine, where a society ball is in progress. When festivities are at their height, the mine caves in. These scenes were actually staged in an old Nevada gold mine. The supporting cast includes Malcolm McGregor, Alan Roscoe, Claire Du Brey, Bessie Eyton and Charles French. Zane Grey’s “Drums of the Desert” will be the second feature on the pro-p-rn m m .
