FRENCHMEN MAY PLAY HERE

LIKELIHOOD OF AUCKLAND VISIT

"rpHERE Is every likelihood A that the Frenchmen will play iu Auckland,” said Mr. n Murray Keane, secretary of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association this morning. Mr. Keane met Mr. Harley Malcolm, honorary secretary to the Australian Lawn Tennis Association, who is returning by the Niagara, and a tentative arrangement was entered into. The French players, Borotra, Brugnon and Boussus, arrive in Wellington by the Tainui on January 16, and leave for Sydney on January 20. They will certainly play in Wellington, but it is not definitely decided whether they will come North or not. The New Zealand Association will decide the: itinerary next week. The Auckland visit will depend partly on the desire of the players themselves.
