DIVED FROM RAIL GIFT FROM PASSENGERS (From Our Resident Reporter.) WELLINGTON, To-day. In recognition of the great presence of mind and courage shown by Corby, one of the Tahiti’s greasers, who dived overboard and was instrumental m rescuing three people when the Greycliffe sink, a presentation was made to him yesterday by Mr. J. R. or the Shaw, Savill Company on behalf of the passengers on board. Corby’s action was one of great bravery, and several of the passengers when interviewed this morning, spoke ° f Corby it a native of Wanganui and a relation of Captain B. J. Corby, master of the oil-tanker Otelfia. Speaking of Corby’s action a wellknown Wellington business man said that it was splendid. Corby x\as lightly clothed and leaped to the rail without hesitation aJid dived at once.
