ELLERSLIE NOTES
HORSES FOR WHANGAREI Although an off-day at Ellerslie, several trainers gave their charges fast work this morning before departing for Whangarei to-morrow morning by the special horse train leaving at 9.40 a.m. On the course proper (one trestle out), Borabarder and Piet were companions in a sprint over five furlongs in 1.6 4-5. They appeared to be going very easily at the finish. Golden Wedding was not extended to cover a similar distance, on the same track, in 1.5.
Slump, on the tan, traversed a round, last six furlongs taking 1.30, while Town Guard took 1.33 for six furlongs. They were, however, not asked to do tneir best. On number two grass Carinthia moved over six furlongs in 1.24, going at an easy, pace throughout. Since the recent Thames meeting, golden Wedding has been acquitting really well in her track essays it Ellerslie. She will make the trip 10 whangarei, where she is an acrsptor for two events
