kiosk wins the criterion handicap
CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. rE Canterbury Jockey Club's Spring Meeting was continued at Riccarton to-day. The weather was perfect, the attendance large and the course in splendid order.

Kiosk wound up a lirrn xYourite. Reremoana was the early but was then steadied. Kio3k ejn to the front, with Paperchase, Booster and Reremoana near in atendance. Kiosk led into the straight,
and going on beat Paperchase by a neck, with Reremoana a head away, followed by Booster, Royal Game, Benion and Paper Boy. Reremoana made t game effort under his big weight to overhaul the leaders, but the best he could do was to finish third. On the running in the Stewards’ Handicap Kiosk stood out in to-day’s race, although his winning margin was only a neck. After always being among the leaders Booster tired into fourth place.

Time, Promising Youngster •Staghunter was a firm favourite for the Irvvell Handicap. After allowing Flicker and Banket to make the pace to tlie straight he went away to win easily by two and a-half lengths from Flicker, with Banket a length away third, followed by Royal Duke, Miss Gowrie and Rigmarole.
