PILLAGE INTERRUPTED There was the evidence of a hasty and It is suspected that the were still busy in Mr. Hoular ®room, where there were quanrities of cigarettes and cigars which •hej would have found acceptable, then they heard the proprietor enter ile garage. They then made a hasty Lit through the outer office, flinging tjTmain gates open wide as they kited. Tie gates had been locked from the huide, and it is believed that one of the intruders must have concealed himself in the yard when they were own during the afternoon. After sort closed he must have let in others, and they smashed the office -cdow, after which they were able (open the door. A small iron crowbar used for openly packing cases fell nicely to their hands as a jemmy, and with it they priaed open the till, which was empty, lone of the cash boxes yielded them jav loot, but in the safe was a large min which they were unable to reach.
SUSPECTED TRIO A trio of suspicious-looking charactm had been seen round the yard in |h« afternoon, and one of them had intered the office to ask the rather ohrioos question: “Does this concern bU bottles?” As the questioner had no bottles to sell it is thought that he may have been there for the purpose of casting a discerning eye round the premises.
