POLA NEGRI’S LATEST Lovers of French antique furniture j will feast their eyes when “Barbed Wire,” Pola Negri’s new picture for ! Paramount reaches the screen. The story is localised in and around i an old Normandy farm house. The research and property department of the Paramount West Coast studio obeyed to the letter orders to make the set "technically perfect.” As a result they combined in collecting furniture, decorations, furnishings and wares that are centuries old; just such articles as are found in European homes that have served one family for generation after generation. “Barbed Wire” is a story of love and race hatred behind the lines during the Great War. It was adapted from Hall Caine’s great novel "The Woman of 1 Knockaloe.” Supporting Miss Negri ! are Clive Brook, who plays Oskar, the | German prisoner of war. Einar Hanson las the brother, Claude Gillingwater as j the father, a_nd Clyde Cook.
