Round the Churches
Following the Celebration of Holy Communion at St. Matthew’s Church, Wellesley Street, at 11 o’clock to-mor-row morning. Canon Grant Cowen will speak on “The Work of the Central Fund.” An anthem, *‘God, Be Merciful,” will be given by the choir in the evening. A lecture on Armistice Day will be given l»y Commander Middleton in the church hall on Monday evening.
The Rev. J. Pattison is to be the preacher at the Somervell Presbyterian Church, Remuera, at both services on Sunday. At the Edendale Church tomorrow, the morning service will be taken by the Rev. E. O. Perry and the one in the evening by Mr. H. B. Burnett. The Sunday school anniversary services are being held to-morrow week, November 13. The Associated Churches of Christ meet to-morrow as follows:—Ponsonbv Road (All*. H. P. Leng.i, Dominion Road (Air. H. K. Alelvin), Richmond (Air. T. J. Bull), Onehunga (Mr. W. E. Vickeryj. Avondale (Air. T. Runciman), Mount Albert and Devonport. Nurse Clayton will speak on “Courage” at the meeting of the Spiritualists’ Church in the L0.0.F. Hall, Pitt Street, at 7 p.m. to-morrow. There will be meetings during the week. The fifth anniversary of the Grange Road Baptist Church is being celebrated to-morrow, when the pastor, the Rev. A. S. Wilson, will administer communion. The Rev. J. C. Alartin, of Australia, is to be the speaker at the evening service. An inspirational address on “The Soul’s Pilgrimage” will be given by Mrs. Harris-Roberts at the Spiritual Scientists’ Church, Newton Chambers, at 7.30 p.m. to-morrow. Afeetings are also being held on Wednesday and Saturday. Summer time will be observed. The Rev. C. G. Scrimgeour will hold another of his big evangelistic services at the Alethodist Central Mission in Airedale Street to-morrow evening. Sister Olive will conduct the meeting at France Street. An interesting address by the Rev. R. N. Duthie, of India, and hearty singing are the chief features of the big men’s meeting which is to be held at the Y.AI.C.A. to-morrow afternoon at 4.15. At the Royal Oak Baptist Church tomorrow morning. Mr. B. N. Wilson, the student pastor, will preach. The evening sermon will be delivered by the Rev. G. N. Garlick. An address on “Adam and Fallen Alan” is to be given at the First Church of Christian Scientists in the Church Hall. Svmonds Street, to-mor-row* morning. Other services are as usual.
