CAPTAIN FINED £5,000 FOR SMUGGLING CHINESE
By Cable.—Press Association. —Copyright Reed 10.30 a.m. PERTH, To-day. Captain Van Keulen, of the Dutch steamer Almkerk was fined £5,000 on a charge of being the master of a vessel on which fifty Chinese stowaways were found. This is stated to be the highest fine ever imposed in West Australia.—A. and N.Z.
