HOARDED DAYLIGHT
SUMMER TIME SAVING
T>Y the adoption of the summertime system, to be introduced to-morrow, it is estimated that New Zealand will save 120 hours of daylight before the reversion to standard time on March 4. When that reversion is effected, the clock will be put back from 3 a.m. to 2 a.m., not from 2 s.m. to 1 a.m. England, Germany and France adopted day I ight saving in 1916, and Italy in 1917. New South Wales and the United States tried the system, and discarded it.
